For Ages 2-5
Birthday Frolics For Ages 2-5

The Lion and The Mouse presented with hand puppets is the Aesop's fable of a lion getting caught in a hunters net and set free by a tiny mouse. Ricky, a two and a half foot tall full body puppet, tells the story of Peter Rabbit. Max the dog sings "Happy Birthday" to the birthday child and all of the children get involved in performing a puppet song. A colorful five foot tall dodo bird will enchant the children with his hilarious song. Four musical marionettes acts are included.

For Ages 6-11
Birthday Frolics For Ages 6-11

This Musical marionette show features a stunning array of puppets in colorful costumes. Kids will thrill to Marco, a juggling bear, Willie, an acrobatic penguin, Matilda, an ostrich who performs ballet, and many others. The birthday child is presented with a gift marionette and volunteers are chosen from the audience to perform. All children receive a balloon animal after the show.

Introduction To Puppetry

Learn all about the many types of puppets: stick, hand, rod, full body, marionettes (string puppets) and ventriloquist dummies. This will not be just a "talk" on puppetry. All types of puppets will be displayed and demonstrated. Volunteers will have the opportunity to get first-hand experience operating puppets. The class will conclude with an exercise in creativity. Each participant will make an impromptu puppet using only newspaper, masking tape and crepe paper.

Basic Puppetry Workshop

Participants will learn all the basics of performing with mouth puppets (hand puppets with movable mouths and rod arms). Detailed instruction will be given on all aspects of performing, such as: entrances and exits, proper mouth movements, showing emotion, blocking (moving the puppets around the performance area) and other elements of a presentation. Each class member will be provided with a puppet to use during this participation workshop.

Make A Scarf Marionette Workshop

Using materials provided, each attendee will create his/her own scarf marionette (string puppet) to take home or use in a performance. The workshop will guide the participants through the step by step procedure of building the puppet. Each person will complete the class with a finished marionette. The class will conclude with directions on the simple operation of the puppet.

Make A Paper Bag Puppet

This workshop is ideal for younger children. Each child makes a colorful paper bag puppet from the pre-cut kit. There are many animal characters, such as rabbits, lions, zebras, and others available.

Make A Rod Puppet Workshop

Imaginations will run wild as each participant will create a rod puppet from simple materials. Instructions will be given on how to perform with the puppet.
